Adding a Description, Category, License, and Tags
Outline
All of these changes take place in the EDIT OBJECT page.
Description
Each object comes with a default description. Replace this filler text with a short blurb about your design, or the object you're sharing.
📝 If you're sharing an object from another repository, this is also a great place to give the designer credit, in-line with the sharing requirements that the license calls for.
Category
Choose a fitting category from the dropdown list. Pick a topic that describes your object. Any user that filters the Community Objects by category should not be surprised to see your object included in the category.
License
This part is important. If you're sharing your own (original) design, you should choose a license to share it under. These licenses are a standardized way to grant copyright permissions to your creative work, your design in this case.
If you've remixed someone else's design, you've edited it, or are distributing/sharing it here, make sure you're sharing it with the licensure and sharing it within the confines of the license chosen by the author.
Choose a License
We are currently testing a new version of the License Chooser. Please consider using the Chooser beta, and leave us feedback on how we can improve. Creative Commons is a non-profit organization. We need your support to continue providing these tools. Donate today!
Object Tags
Tags are a quick way to help others find your object via search, and navigate between similar objects by clicking on a tag. Add any tags that apply by entering one on your keyboard and then clicking ENTER or hitting the comma ,
button.
