We see it all the time. A teacher develops their own system for using the 3D printers; a Google Form, using Student Names on the objects and putting them on the printer, whatever it ends up being! They stay above water and fulfill print jobs for students. Things are okay!

Now, imagine they're out for a week. Or, they enter retirement. The entire printing program is put on hold. It's back to square one. It's time for whomever took their place to develop their own systems and workflows to use the printers effectively. It may feel like they're reinventing the wheel. This can be overwhelming, and the print program (and students) suffer.

Now, instead of asking the new teacher to develop their own workflow and system, they can take the following steps on their first day. No added stress!

  1. Signs in with 3 clicks, using Google/Microsoft
  2. Joins the school using a Teacher Join Code (or accepts an invite from someone else in the school). Done!
  3. In seconds, now has unfettered access to the School's 3D printers. Has rich member management, student objects, and dozens of STEAM curriculum modules at their fingertips.

Tips for a Smooth Transition

  1. Make sure you're using a school! Some users try and some odd concoction of several separate workflows in order to print. The school was created to avoid this! Create a school or get access to the one already created.
  2. Add printers to the school. The printer gets connected by one person, but as long as the printer is added to the school, the school becomes the owner, and you'll never lose access.
  3. Have the new teacher join the school. As
  4. Change Admin as needed. To make sure you're able to access all the features to monitor members and extend your license, try and get Admin access. There are a few extra housekeeping things they are able to do, that teachers cannot. Contact your Polar3D Rep if you need help
