The best way to unlock your printing workflow, is to have students sign in to create their own accounts, and upload their own objects.

Some schools try and used one shared account.. this creates lots of problems later on down the line. With one shared account..

  • There is no differentiation between print jobs
    • You cannot filter print jobs by classroom, club, or grade level, to prioritize certain prints
    • You cannot see who queued an inappropriate job, to reprimand or trim their access
    • You cannot see who queued a job that needs revision, so you do not know who to tell
  • Students do not receive notifications when their prints are queued, canceled, or completed

  • You cannot see if certain students are printing too much, unfairly taking up resources when others have not yet printed at all

  • You cannot promote outstanding students to take on more responsibility; helping you print, and helping them learn

  • You're limiting the learning potential of the user, and the potential that the platform provides

Instead..

  1. Have each student Sign In to the Polar Cloud using their Google or Microsoft account.
  2. Have students join the school/group
  3. Have students upload their designs, or import directly from Tinkercad.
  4. Have students submit a job request to the school, or a print job directly to the printer
  5. Repeat steps 2-4!
Happy printing!
